Bierwirt traditional hotel
The history of the hotel
The Bierwirt has a long-standing history at the heart of the Tyrolean mountains. A traditional hotel in the history-charged city of Innsbruck, which has been settled since the Neolithic Age. The owners of the Bierwirt have also experienced a great deal of history first hand. You can become part of this during your holiday here.
Castles and inns
The ‘Ad umbras’ (in the shade) castle was built in the 10th century before being destroyed and re-built. The ‘Schloss Ambras’ (Ambras castle) as it is now known, received its current architectural style from 1564-1584. The castle was built in a Renaissance style close to the Bierwirt as a meeting point for the aristocracy. 30 years after its renovation, the Bierwirt was built in 1610 close to the castle.
Tradition is a priority
The Hotel Bierwirt in Innsbruck has been under family ownership from the outset. Isabella and Hannes Happ have adopted the traditions of the hotel and now run the 4-star hotel together in their name. Tyrolean comfort has always been accorded a high priority here. For this reason, the rooms, restaurant and exterior façade have been retained in a Tyrolean style. The hotel also has a vivid culinary history: the Chef serves deliciously prepared regional treats.
