Sunny skiing in Tyrol
Skiing at its most beautiful
When the ski lifts are starting to close elsewhere, the pleasure is only just beginning in Tyrol: thanks to its numerous high altitude ski resorts, the mountains around Innsbruck also offer the optimal piste conditions in spring.
Sunny skiing in Tyrol offers the perfect combination of winter sport and well-being. Winter is particularly enchanting in the morning: you can choose between magnificent firn snow descents and deep snow sections and feel the warm spring sun on your face as you take the chair lift. And when spring gains the upper hand in the afternoon, the numerous terraces of the cosy ski huts invite visitors to enjoy some well-deserved sunbathing.
Extending the ski season in Tyrol
Tyrol is a true paradise for sun skiers thanks to its numerous high altitude ski resorts. With its mild temperatures and perfect visibility and snow conditions, you can savour the sunny side of winter here. Spring is particularly popular among lovers of firn skiing: when the melted snow freezes again overnight, the pistes become particularly compact and give you a good grip.
Ideal conditions for sun worshippers
Many of the high altitude ski resorts in Tyrol open until May including the Arlberg (up to 2,811 m above sea level), the World Cup resort of Sölden (up to 3,340 m) and the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn close to Innsbruck (up to 2,962 m). And if you can’t get enough of the snow, you can practise your turns on Tyrol’s 5 glaciers until June!
