Funerals at the Bierwirt
Say farewell in style
It is not easy to pay one’s last respects to a loved one for one last time. But a belief in eternal life helps. All cultures of the world share the custom of getting together with family, friends and acquaintances with food and drink after saying goodbye – both in memory of the deceased and to cheer up the relatives.
Sorrow shared is sorrow halved and marks the first step towards life without a loved one. This worldly notion has been a custom here in Tyrol for centuries. The Bierwirt offers a fitting and stylish setting for funeral gatherings. We are here for you and can support you with organising this event.
The last journey made by a loved one is the most difficult for those left behind. The cemetery in the east of Innsbruck (Pradler Friedhof) is just a few minutes’ walk from the Bierwirt and the Friedhof Wilten, West Friedhof and Friedhof Mariahilf cemeteries are also within easy reach by car.
Life goes on
It is said that the Tyrolean Zirbenstube (stone pine lounge) encourages socialising, offers comfort and restores mental balance. This has even been scientifically proven. The Zirbenstube lounge in the Bierwirt (almost 400 years old) is a particularly imposing piece of cultural heritage. Where better to come together for such an occasion?
We offer a complete service for any funeral gathering. You can also enjoy special Tyrolean cuisine. We are happy to incorporate any particular requirements you may have. The Bierwirt team is always on hand to help.
