The Tyrolean stone pine lounge
Health at the Bierwirt
The local stone pine is one of the most expensive and healthy woods to be found in our forests. This was reason enough for the Happ family to furnish one of the cosy lounges at the Bierwirt in Innsbruck with this sophisticated variety of wood.
The Alpine people have been using stone pine to build houses and furnish interiors for thousands of years. The wood has been accorded special powers and has a long-standing tradition in the guest lounges too. Stone pine is scientifically proven to have a positive impact on people.
The essential oils present in stone pine sooth and relax, they can even affect and lower the heart rate. Just the thing for a heated debate in one of the guest lounges!
From our own forest
The Tyrolean Zirbenstube (stone pine lounge) was established at the hotel in 2011. The wood was felled at exactly the right time according to the lunar calendar and was then stored in the forest for a few years. Following this ‘maturation process’, the lounge was built, offering space for 50 people.
